Q. I have just got back from my regular clean with my dental hygienist and he told me that from looking at my teeth I will need to have braces to correct them and align them straightly which will be great as I have always been a little unhappy with the way they look.
I will have to go and see my dentist about getting braces but what my hygienist said is that in the mean time I should have a think about what color braces I want to have, my mind automatically thinks pink braces would be cool but is that just my girly side coming out too quick wanting pink braces?
I don’t know as yet how long I will have to have them but how ever long it is I don’t want to look stupid wearing them. I would love any help you can give me with this matter about whether to chose pink braces or not.
A. It’s great that you got in touch and even better to hear from a young person that is keeping up with their dental hygienist appointment’s and being checked regularly. Pink braces, well they are the first choice for most girls that need braces and overall it’s not a bad choice. Boy usually go with blue braces and girls usually go with pink braces, it’s just they way most do it.
I think you are very safe picking pink braces but when you go and see your dentist or orthodontist ask them what they think would suit you skin tone as they have done this thousands of times and will be able to help you greatly.
